Step-by-Step Instructions: SEO Smart Blog Posts
Step 1: Insert Keyword Phrase in Title
1. Create a new blog post in your Dashboard by clicking My Blog Page, Add New Post.
2. In the Edit Post screen, type a title for your blog post in the title field. Be sure to use the primary keyword phrase you are targeting.
Step 2: Keyword phrase in first sentence and bolded
1. Start typing the body of the your blog post. Be sure to use the primary keyword phrase you are targeting in the first sentence of the post and bold the text.2. To bold the keyword, highlight the text and then click the B icon located in the kitchen sink area of the Edit Post screen.
Step 3: Image in article with the keyword typed into the "Alt Text" field
1. Insert an image into the body of your blog post.
2. After inserting the image, click on it and click the edit image icon that looks like a mountain with a blue sky.
3. When the edit image window appears, type the primary keyword phrase you are targeting in this blog post into the Edit Alternate Text field and click Update when finished.
Step 4: Keyword phrase in sentence as an H1.
1. Choose one sentence in the body of the blog post that contains the primary keyword phrase you are targeting and change the formatting to a Heading 1.To do this, select the sentence you want to make a Heading 1, highlight it, click the drop down arrow next to the format icon in the kitchen sink area and choose the Heading 1 option.
Step 5: Keyword phrase in a sentence as an H2.
1. Choose one sentence in the body of the blog post that contains the primary keyword phrase you are targeting and change the formatting to a Heading 2.
To do this, select the sentence you want to make a Heading 2, highlight it, click the drop down arrow next to the format icon in the kitchen sink area and choose the Heading 2 option.
Step 6: Keyword phrase in italics.
1. To format the keyword in italics, highlight the text and then click the I icon located in the kitchen sink area of the Edit Post screen.
Step 7: Keyword phrase in a sentence as an H3.
1. Choose one sentence in the body of the blog post that contains the primary keyword phrase you are targeting and change the formatting to a Heading 3.
To do this, select the sentence you want to make a Heading 3, highlight it, click the drop down arrow next to the format icon in the kitchen sink area and choose the Heading 3 option.
Step 8: Keyword phrase underlined and used in the last sentence.
1. Lastly, use the primary keyword phrase you are targeting in the last sentence of the post and underline the text. To underline the text, highlight it and then click the U in the kitchen sink area.
